Having completed your Silver Expedition your skills will already be very good.
Gold training will further develop and improve these skills up to the level needed for Gold participants.
Both your Practice and Final trips are now for 4 days and 3 nights.
You will find you are in Wild Country so the scenery really is wonderful and a host of weather.
Gold also gives you the opportunity to have a wild camp if you choose.
You can now expect to be active for at least 8 hours each day.
If you don't get the opportunity to complete your gold expedition through your school, then we run an "Open Gold" group alongside our normal group work with school.
As the gold award is valid until the age of 25 it's possible to join up with other individuals to work as a group on an open expedition. Open expeditions are DofE expeditions made available to all DofE participants, you will probably meet new people, probably make new friends, definitely have the opportunity to complete your gold award.
